Do you ever have relationships that don’t work out?
Of course! Fortunately, this doesn't happen often, and our Success Teams are here to mitigate issues or to offer a replacement Freedom Maker at no additional cost. Below are the most common reasons a Freedom Maker may leave an assignment, outside of changes in circumstances:
- Consistency. The client does not provide consistent hours, so the Freedom Maker is not able to meet personal budget needs.
- Unrealistic expectations. The Freedom Maker cannot be available at all hours, despite only being on the clock at certain times.
- Lack of communication. Clear communication—whether feedback, recurring meetings, expectations, or turnaround times—is essential to the success of an assignment.
- Personality conflict. Occasionally, a client and Freedom Maker may not mesh. Our two Success Teams work to resolve conflicts, but if needed, we can replace the Freedom Maker for a better fit, at no additional charge.
- Task and rate mismatch. If a Freedom Maker is working on tasks that are outside of the scope of the agreed upon rate, an adjustment may be needed. Your CSM team will help determine the best way forward.
- Inactivity. Unless designated as a project, we ask our clients to provide consistent work every month. If 30 days go by without activity in Ivy, our success teams will engage to find out why hours are not being logged. If ever there is a need to pause work, or if you will not be utilizing your Freedom Maker for a period of time, please reach out to us.
How to Troubleshoot your Assignment
Build a Strong Foundation By Implementing Our Best Practices
- Hold a recurring meeting with your Freedom Maker weekly or every other week. We have a sample agenda here for your use so that expectations are communicated and your Freedom Maker is focused on the right priorities.
- Make a list of all the tasks you do each week, and annotate those that you might consider delegating to your Freedom Maker.
- Review Ivy hours and tasks weekly.. Evaluate if the hours worked meet your expectations, and adjust accordingly.
- Share a task management system to keep the two of you on the same page. Even a simple shared document will enable great collaboration.
- Establish working hours boundaries. Freedom Makers are not "on call," so it is important to communicate about response times and work boundaries. Most Freedom Makers utilize time blocking to accommodate multiple clients. Clear boundaries support both your work/life balance and your Freedom Maker’s other commitments.
